The article doesn't go far enough. The pussification of America is everywhere. It's deep seeded and at times real subtle. Political correctness is actually pussification. The morning TV shows like the Today Show are a front for complete pussification of the country and their conquest is virtually complete. I can no longer exists here and need a new country.

Awarding a trophy to the loser is like giving a college degree to a dropout. The concept of working hard to achieve goals appears to be fading in todays society, which is becoming more and more extreme with each passing day.

I have some more blog posts in mind about the future of our society and the changes being made, both good and bad. Check back for more updates.

I agree with the majority of this post and I would take it a step further, we are actually dooming our country to a mediocre future.

The children who do get out and participate in sports or other organized competitions are taught that even if you lose you still win.. I grew up being told that “it’s not whether you win or lose its how you play the game” As long as you truly tried you hardest and lost it was okay, I still live by this mantra. However kids these days come home with a trophy even when they lose. How is this helpful? Not teaching our children how to deal with disappointment and failure leads to an adult population who stomp their feet and say but that’s not fair. Fair? What in life is fair? You work hard and earn what you get; nothing in life is handed to you. If we keep teaching our children that they will still be rewarded for coming in second, than we’ll diminish or extinguish their competitive nature, turn our population into under-achieving whiners

I agree almost completely with everything you have said. The modern obsession with germs and dust has created a generation of children with weakened immune systems and higher incidences of asthma and allergies (this is well-documented medically). Even high school laboratories are a joke due to all the regulations school boards have put in place to avoid lawsuits. Safety does have some merits, however, although it has been incredibly overemphasized to the point of (as you say) pussification. I was mountain biking about a year ago and got into a collision which I am fully convinced would have severed my spinal cord has I not been wearing a helmet. Luckily, all I have is fairly major scarring on my left shoulder. If you are concerned that this somehow diminished my masculinity, I advise you not to worry as I had to bike ~5 miles covered in blood to the hospital.

I absolutely agree with your article. Parents dont let their kids risk anything these days and if something does happen such as a scrap of the knee, they panic like the world is ending. I think technology and the building up of local towns has brought this upon us. All the woods i grew up playing in are replaced with house developments, and video games and computers are so much more available to everyone, its corrupting the young population. Parents should set limits on how much time their kids can spend using technology per day and have a minimum number of hours outside. Each generation is getting worse and its pathetic.
