Bringing Dad Home (Day 4)
Who would have guessed that it would take 4 days just to spring my dad from the hospital in Florida and bring him back to New York? I never expected to be stuck in such a dilemma and my mom really owes me big time for this one! But hey, what do I care? Everything worked out just fine.
- 8:00 - Wake Up
My dad was out. And I mean O-U-T! I finally got to sleep in for an extra hour! Woo-Hoo! - 8:30 - Dad Wakes Up
Yay! My dad wakes up this morning and feels fine. - 9:00 - Breakfast
The Desmond Hotel really kicks it up a notch with breakfast. My dad had a fruit smoothie (he’s never had one before, ever), a plate of fruit, and a bagel.
I had the King Breakfast which included eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries, and three small pancakes.
On a completely different unrelated side note, when the guy from the hotel picked us up at the airport last night, he was dressed up like Ben Franklin. Not sure why, exactly, but it was hard to take the guy seriously when he was wearing that crazy get-up. - 11:00 - Left For Home
Ah is it good to be home. Traveling is great, but traveling with your dad who needs round-the-clock assistance isn’t as enjoyable as having your freedom to go wherever you want, when you want. However, I did get to spendsomea lot of much-needed quality time with my dad, which is something that we haven’t been able to do in recent years. I just wish Angie was able to tag along; she would have made things so much better. - 11:45 - HOME!!!
Hi Angie! Hi Oswald & Pickles!
