It is now highly feasible to take care of everybody on Earth on a higher standard of living than any have ever known. It no longer has to be you or me. Selfishness is unnecessary. War is obsolete. It is a matter of converting the high technology from weaponry to livingly. – R. Buckminster Fuller (July 12, 1895 – July 1, 1983)

Very wise quote, it sounds utopic someway but is the kind of world where I’d like to live.
Sadness and war is obsolete??? It is a good notion but it is practically impossible. Each person has different desires and aspirations. Meaning we are bound to clash with one another to some degree. Humans are both capable of good and evil.
Technology is made to help us live easier. The quote is very nice.
I really hope that there would be no more war. Let’s help one another and live in peace.
We should really stop selfishness. Living in peace and harmony will be great for all.
Put respect on him! He has a history of life that was not easy before but was able to rise. And since then, his name has been known internationally.
This is so right…we should stop fighting and use the cutting edge technology used in designing weapons used in wars to design things that will benefit the human race..seriously, war is obsolete
Very wise words from Fuller. It’s the responsibility of everyone on earth to be keepers of each other.
I totally agree with your quote. If only we could be a little bit selfish and take care of our brothers and sisters all over, suffering is unnecessary.
Exactly my daily thoughts. sometimes I look around and ask myself what is the real essence of war and violence. Nothing apart from destruction.
I love the quote and how it explains the importance of treating people like equals. Personally I have never liked selfish people and don’t even like associating with them.
But the aspect of war is really creepy to me just to add
