River Carry Me Away

Oh river, carry me away.
Far, far away;
Nothing is left for me here.
With your cold, rapid waters,
carry me quickly away from here.
Over the many rocks I shall not notice;
the waters chill my skin until I’m numb.
Carry me away to a better life.
Anywhere is better than here.
With your swiftly charted waters,
oh river, carry me away.

    A free verse poem huh??? Are you trying to run away from who or what? Anyway, we all felt like this one time or the other. This is very good and really cool.

    Hmmm, this poem seems to show someone who was desperate in his life. And hope there is a miracle to change it for the better. Hopefully I am right :).

    I the river would carry me away, I wonder where it will lead me. I hope for a place better than where I am now.

    This is great poem, as if it’s easy to run away with everything. An escape to difficult times. How I wish escape is easy.

    Sometimes we all want to be washed away. I like to think when we die our soul gets carried away to a new life-form.

    Quite a lovely poem I must say. I hope to be carried to a better place, a better life, but not death not now.
