Thomas Slatin Quote About Her Work As A Firefighter

Whenever I went to work as a firefighter, I promised my family that no matter what happened at work, I would come home safely after my shift. Also, if the unthinkable happened and I didn’t survive, I wanted to be remembered not for the way in which I died, but instead, how I lived.

That’s a beautiful way to put it. Personally, I couldn’t imagine having a job where my life was at risk every day, but I have tremendous respect for those who do the work to keep the rest of us safe. So thank you, and I’m so happy that you made it home every time.

Thank you, Suzanne! Unfortunately, I know of a handful of people whom I worked with who weren’t so lucky. I think about those people at least ten minutes out of every day.
